We are spotlighting Mary Drisdale today and her amazing travels across Europe!
This past June, Mary had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris at ESCP (one of the top ranked business schools in Europe). While at this business school, she was able to take a marketing course taught by a UT professor as well as an international business class taught by a French professor.
Due to her classes getting out on Thursdays, Mary was able to travel on the weekends to different places throughout Europe. Her first weekend she traveled to Normandy to see the location of the D-Day invasion and to tour the memorial. She found it hard to imagine the soldiers in the freezing water trying to storm the beach.
On the other weekends she traveled to places such as Rome, London, and Barcelona. She loved being able to try all the different foods and learned that one cup of French coffee rivaled three “ventis” from Starbucks.
She had amazing pizza and pasta in Rome and the paella in Barcelona was to die for. While she had all this amazing food, she did admit to indulging in the occasional Chipotle burrito and McDonalds chicken nuggets whenever she was homesick and missing Texas.
She had an amazing time exploring and visiting all the different places in Europe and would never take back her wonderful experience of studying in Paris.
Au revoir until our next spotlight,
