On February 13, 2014, 29 of the biggest blessings came into my life: my Sweetie class. I became a Texas Sweetie on that day and since then have met some of my very best friends and don’t have any idea how I went 19 years without knowing them. My story of how I came to UT is a little different. I had always had my eye on this University but I really never planned to come here so when I finally transferred here my sophomore year, it was a huge shock that I wasn’t prepared for. While my roommate was always busy with sorority stuff I didn’t have a place to call my own or really any friends for that matter. I owe the Texas Sweethearts for finding my happiness her at UT. This organization has taught me how to be a true Longhorn. We not only strive to represent the Texas Longhorns in a positive light, but also the Austin community. I am so fortunate to have been given the honor of being a Texas Sweetheart. Everything and everyone in this organization is so near and dear to my heart. There is never a dull moment with these girls. Whether it be at a Sweetheart’s event or studying at the PCL, I know I always have someone to call for a good laugh or cry… Especially during finals week. Being given the opportunity to be the Fall 2015 Recruitment chair and being able to give another wonderful group of girls the home that I was given is such an honor and rewarding feeling. I have truly found my sisters, roommates, and future bridesmaids through sweethearts and I can honestly not put into words how thankful I am for that. I am so excited to meet all of our hopeful fall recruits and create a beautiful sweetie class to add to this crazy Sweethearts Family. I wish all of ya’ll the best of luck! HOOK ‘EM!!!
